Building Vocabulary

 

An active English learner should be constantly looking for ways to increase their vocabulary as  a matter of lifestyle.  Casual English learners should be remembering about 10-14 words a week while active full time students should be remembering closer to 50 words a week.  Use the form we have attached here and follow the instructions to keep your vocabulary growing.

 

 

1. Decide on How Many

     Decide the number of words you wish to remember for a week.

     Each form can hold 10 words.  If you desire to learn more than

     use additional forms.

 

2. Print the Form

    Print the form so that you have a physical copy.

 

3. Find the Words

    You are free to use any source.  Just looking around

    MattoSensei.com, researching things on the internet in English, texts

    that you have etc.   Spend some time and write down new,  

    unrecognized words until your target number is reached.

 

4. Follow the Steps

    Each form has clear steps of what you should do after the words are written,

    including looking up the words, writing the words in different English, putting

    down an example, drawing a picture and spending some review time.

 

5. Review

    Carry the form with you all week and spend at least  5 minutes in the

    morning and 5 minutes in the evening reviewing the words on the list and

    the information you have written.

 

6. Repeat

    Repeat this process week after week for a giant improvement in your English

    Vocabulary.
