While & When (as conjunctions)

 

While: during the time that, indicating 2 simultaneous actions

When: at the time that,

 

Can come at the head or tail of the sentence.

 

 

Examples:

 

While I was eating lunch my kids were wathcing TV.

I can't use my cell phone while I am working.

While we were in California there was a giant Earthquake.

She saw many fish while she was snorkeling.

What did you do while you were at the park?
